Rebecca Stickney Hamilton (1902-1994) attended Wellesley College and worked as a fashion editor for Harper's Bazaar. She married Pierpont Morgan Hamilton in 1930. The couple had no children and later divorced. During World War II she worked as assistant director of the Red Cross on Rainbow Corner in London. Rebecca died in Albemarle County, Virginia in 1994.
This is a recipe book containing the favorite recipes of Rebecca Stickney Hamilton (1902-1994). Included are printed photographs and illustrations from Hamilton. "These recipes were gleaned from a collective memory of foods eaten with Rebecca, requested by her, and sometimes wistfully remembered by her. We are sure that you could add many more." On verso: "Development and design by Betsey Coe; technical assistance by Carol Jaeger; original idea by Emily Magoon and remarkable patience by Peter Coe; Damariscotta, Maine, 1996." One of the recipes included is Charlottesville Wedding Punch.
