Series I: Conducting: Scores, Parts, and Recordings

Russell Stanger spent much of his career conducting ensembles. His personal collection of conducting scores, with handwritten notes and, in some cases, notes from the composers, is included in this series. Also included are the reference recordings Stanger used for score study. The series has been divided into full size scores, miniature scores, and recordings and alphabetized by composer's last name.

Russell Stanger was a composer as well as a conductor. He was commissioned to write several pieces throughout his career and this series contains his works in every stage of the publishing and performing process.

Russell Stanger was never one to let a teaching opportunity pass him by. Throughout his career he conducted children's performances and other educational programs. He taught about subjects as detailed as form or rhythm and subjects as broad as the romantic period. This series is made up of the notes he used to teach from the podium.
