Biographical / Historical

Steven A. Yetiv was well known internationally for his work in the geo-politics of oil.Yetiv appeared on major networks such as CNN, CNBC, CSPAN and NPR. He also authored over 250 essays and editorials for The New York Times, the Washington Post, Los Angeles Times, USA Today and The Globe and Mail in Canada.

Yetiv was also a consultant to various governments. He received the U.S. Secretary of State's Open Forum Distinguished Public Service Award, the Choice Outstanding Academic Book awards, and the State Council of Higher Education for Virginia's Outstanding Faculty Award.

Yetiv was valued at Old Dominion University as the Louis I. Jaffe Professor of International Relations. The ODU University Archives houses a collection of various newspaper articles written by Yetiv from 1983 to 2012. Yetiv passed away in March of 2018 at the age of 53

Content Description

This collection contains three scrapbooks featuring news articles, mostly from newspapers, written by Steven A. Yetiv, a professor in the Department of Political Science and Geography at Old Dominion University. Most of the articles are about United States and Middle East Relations during the Cold War and just before the September 11, 2001 terrorist attacks on the United States.
