This collection was acquired by Newman Library prior to 1956.
The processing, arrangement, and description of the Karl Jacob Belser Illustrations was completed prior to 2010. Additional description was completed in December 2010.
Karl Jacob Belser (1902-1972) was a Professor of Architectural Engineering at VPI from 1929 through 1941.
This collection is comprised of a 1930s set of intaglio prints and a photocopy of Karl and Wilma Belser's 1938 Christmas card that was drawn by Belser. Most of the prints are signed and dated dry point and etchings by a library staff member, however there is a strong possibility that they maybe engravings. The print themes are European architecture and bust portraits. One print is on a piece of paper that has a cutoff watermark, Michall France.
Materials in this collection are arranged in chronological order. Undated materials are at the beginning.
