Warren H. Manning was a well known Massachusetts landscape designer. He was a promoter of National Parks.
This collection includes two of Manning's initial assessments of the Old Black Homestead and the Preston Cemetery on the Virginia Polytechnic Institute campus. Drawings of the Old Black Homestead are also present in this collection. There is also a copied Roanoke Times article, from May 2, 1928, describing the involvement of Warren H. Manning the landscape design of the school's campus. Lastly, there are copies of letters that Manning sent to Virginia Governor E. Lee Trinkle and to Virginia Tech President Julian Burruss, on the project at Virginia Tech.
