Scope and Content

This collections contains materials from American Civil War reenactor Richter Ellison. A large number of these materials were used for reenactments or for research, likely to improve historical accuracy. This includes personal research and compiled files, correspondence, and several artifacts such as a reproduction surgery kit, pharmacy kit, and medical bag complete with replication medicines, surgical implements, and a travel scale. The bulk of the papers were created between 1994 and 2003 (undated documents are likely from the same time). The dates of creation or acquisition of artifacts by the collector are unknown.
