Includes chapter history albums and scrapbooks, special reports, Virginia DAR proceedings, Williamsburg DAR regular and executative meeting minutes, awards, commemorative banners.

General

Regular meeting minutes are restricted for 20 years except to current members in good standing of the Williamsburg chapter. Permission for current members in good standing to access minutes from the last 20 years must be granted in advance in writing or email to spcoll@wm.edu by the current Regent or Recording Secretary. A current roster of Board members shall be provided by the Regent to the library at the change of each office term or when updates occur.

Executive Board Minutes may only be accessed by the current Regent or Recording Secretary.

The current chapter Regent may make a written request to borrow material from the Williamsburg DAR collection two (2) times in a calendar year and/or at the new officer's induction meeting. Requests for a private viewing of materials in the Special Collections area of the library for special chapter events may be made in writing by the chapter regent to the Director of the Special Collections Research Center.

Series 6: Williamsburg Chapter DAR Charter, Framed
Mixed Materials Frame: 1 1927
Scope and Contents

Framed charter of the Williamsburg Chapter of the Daughters of American Revolution, includes 26 names of original charter members. The National Society of the DAR approved the Williamsburg Chapter on April 24, 1925; framed charter document signed on April 18, 1927.

Scope and Contents

This series includes applications, a certificate of recognition signed by former Virginia governor (2018-2022), Ralph Northam and a proclamation signed by Williamsburg Mayor Paul T. Freiling. Other papers include correspondence and brochures related to the Youth Citizenship ceremony, Virginia Thanksgiving festival, as well as the naturalization ceremony and the July wreath laying ceremony. Reports on Americanism are also included. Yearbooks in this series are restricted from the public.
