Biographical Information

Maria Louisa Magruder was born on 3 July 1877 in Albemarle County, Virginia. She married James Oscar Thurman on 18 November 1918. Maria lived at Edgemont and died on 8 June 1947. She was buried in Maplewood Cemetery in Charlottesville.

Scope and Content

This collection contains one original recipe book and a transcription of the recipe book. The recipe book includes handwritten baking and cooking recipes; newspaper clippings on various homemaker tips on cleaning clothes, removing stains, and additional recipes; and notes on family members birthdates.
