Biographical Information
George P. Inge (1859-1948) was an African American merchant who operated Inge's store at 333 West Main Street in Charlottesville. His son Thomas F. Inge (1903-1993) operated the store after his father's death.
Scope and Content
This is a collection of Inge Grocery Store receipts from the 1970s. Merchants included the Pepsi Cola Bottling Company, Charlottesville Hardware, Omohundro Electric Company, and Charles King and Son Co.
Included is a certification that George Inge sold his son Thomas the store, and the certification of Gertrude Inge as executrix of George Inge.
