Biographical Information
John William Green was born in Batesville, Virginia, in April 8, 1892. He was the son of George M. Green and Mary M. Green.
Scope and Content
The collection contains correspondence and other family documents that belonged to the Greene/Green family. Of importance are the Arithmetic and English notebooks that belonged to John William Greene, some correspondence from George W. Green (father), receipts from the Charles T. Page General Merchandise and E. E. Nay General Merchandise, both dealers with stores in Batesville, VA. There are ledgers, account books, sermons and a book of songs all related to the Mount View Baptist Church of Batesville, Va.
