Biographical / Historical
The Cayce Family of Hopkinsville, Ky., included Edgar Cayce (1877-1945), known as the "sleeping prophet," the "father of holistic medicine," and the most documented psychic of the 20th century; his wife, Gertrude Evans Cayce (1880-1945), who supported her husband's work and served as the conductor for his readings; Edgar Cayce's father, Leslie Burr Cayce (1853-1937); and the children of Edgar and Gertrude, Hugh Lynn (1907-1982), manager of the Association for Research and Enlightenment, established in 1931, and Edgar Evans (1918-2013), electrical engineer and author.
Scope and Contents
The collection is primarily composed of paper materials, including correspondence, legal papers, and publications. Other materials include artifacts, certificates, news clippings, photographs, and audio-visual materials. The Hugh Lynn Cayce series comprises the majority of the collection.

The Hugh Lynn Cayce series is based upon the arrangement created by Norrene Leary, former secretary to Hugh Lynn Cayce.
