Historical Information
The Central Virginia Primetimers are the Richmond-area branch of the Primetimers World Wide, an organization formed to provide mature gay and bisexual men, and their admirers, with opportunities to come together in a supportive atmosphere to enjoy social, educational, and recreational activities. They were founded in December 2002.Primetimers World Wide was founded in 1987 by a retired professor, Woody Baldwin. He felt a wide gap existed in today's society which caters almost exclusively to youth. Baldwin began the Boston Chapter first but the organization has grown to include over sixty chapters worldwide, located throughout North America, Europe and Australia.
Scope and Contents
Records, 2002-2006, of the Central Virginia Primetimers consists of board of directors minutes, newsletters, and officers' election ballots for the organization as well as magazine articles, funeral programs, and website printouts related to specific members.
