The Hardwick Family Collection was donated to Special Collections in December 1972.

The processing, arrangement, and description of the Hardwick Family Collection was completed in 1972. Additional description was completed in March 2011.
Biographical Note
John Cecil Hardwick and James Thomas Hardwick, Jr. were students of VPI. John Cecil Hardwick attended VPI between the years 1910-1912; he died on July 16 1912. James Thomas Hardwick attended between the years 1916-1920. James Thomas Hardwick, Jr. was captain of the VPI football team and president of the Young Men's Christian Association during his senior year.
Scope and Content
The Hardwick Family Collection consists of thirteen items related to Virginia Polytechnic Institute, including correspondence concerning the Corps of Cadets, football, the YMCA, and a 1929 pamphlet entitled, "Talks to Young Men and Boys by Great Athletes," by J.T. Hardwick.
