Biographical Note
Frances (McEver) Hutcheson Russell (1931-2021) was born to Herbert M. "Mac" and Eleanor S. McEver in Blacksburg, Virginia. She graduated from the University of Richmond's Westhampton College and taught English at Blacksburg High School. In 1954, Frances married Thomas B. Hutcheson, Jr., and they had three children. After his death, she married George E. "Buddy" Russell.

Scope and Content
This collection contains a scrapbook of newspaper clippings and photographs of the Blacksburg High School Warrior Band, and about the work of the Band Boosters, whose purpose was to encourage and support the development of the instrumental program in the Blacksburg, Virginia, schools. The scrapbook was created by Frances Hutcheson Russell when she was publicity chair of the Band Boosters.
