Scope and Content Note
The collection consists of an incomplete letter dated July 8, 1862 from Thomas Haden to his wife talking about marching and battle. He writes of having been sick and "brook down." He writes of a letter from Mr. Hall which might allow him to return home to work in the 'shop,' if the Secretary of War agrees. There are also accounts of the Yankees being driven out of Richmond, Virginia.

The materials are arranged with the letter at the front, followed by a photocopy, a typed transcript.
