Biographical Note
Eleanor F. Sheffey was the daughter of John P. Sheffey and Josephine Spiller. In the 1880s, she attended the Stonewall Jackson Institute in Abingdon, Virginia, which was eventually absorbed into Martha Washington College.
Scope and Content
This collection contains one certificate of proficiency in German awarded to Miss Eleanor F. Sheffey. The certificate was issued by the Stonewall Jackson Institute for the 1882 to 1883 session and is signed by the Institute President Alex L. Holladay.
