Biographical Note
John Anthony Kircher was born on September 6, 1921, to Louis and Elsie Sheehan Kircher in Albany, New York. He married Mary Hunsberger on November 19, 1943, and they had six children. During World War II, Kircher served as a sergeant in the U.S. Army. He attended Virginia Polytechnic Institute from 1943 to 1944 in the Army Specialized Training Unit, graduating in Spring 1944 with a B.S. in Chemical Engineering. Kircher worked for 40 years at Los Alamos National Labs.

Scope and Content
This collection contains publications, photographs, postcards, programs, and other memorabilia from John A. Kircher's time at Virginia Tech under the Army Specialized Training Program in 1943-1944. Items include Kircher's appointments within V.P.I., play programs, a V.P.I. handbook, and one play program dated 1889. There is also an In Memoriam from 1999 for the deceased members of the Class of 1944.
