Lucie Ligon Gibboney (1917-2007) was born on April 3, 1917, to Jacob Haller and Lucie (Ligon) Gibboney in South Carolina. In Monroe, West Virignia, in 1936, she married James Montgomery Graham, Jr. (1916-1976), who graduated from Virginia Agriculture and Mechanical College and Polytechnic Institute in 1938. Scope and Content
The Lucie L. Gibboney Scrapbook contains dance cards, football programs, correspondence, dried flowers, ticket stubs, menus, photographs and other ephemera. Much of the materials relate to Virginia Agricultural and Mechanical College and Polytechnic Institute (VPI) and the Town of Blacksburg, Virginia. Gibboney probably collected these materials while visiting James M. Graham, Jr., a 1938 graduate of VPI, to document memories from their time together in the New River Valley.
