Adminsitrative History
The Blacksburg Chamber Music Series was founded in Blacksburg, Virginia, in 1967. The series was run by a Board of faculty members from Virginia Tech, including its chairman David A. West and his wife Lindsay Butte West. Other Board members include Leslie Malpass, Charles Frohn, Guy B. Hammond, and Herschel and Wilhelmina Elarth.
In the 1970-1971, it became the Virginia Tech Union Chamber Music Series.
Scope and Content
The collection contains programs, correspondence, and other ephemera relating to the Blacksburg Chamber Music Series and the Virginia Tech Union Chamber Music Series from 1967-1982 in Blacksburg, Virginia, collected by its chairman David A. West. The correspondence contains letters and contracts with booking agents for different musicians and musical groups.
