John H. Snouffer (1846-1939), served in the Union Army during the United States Civil War for just 4 months repairing telephone lines at Fort Powhattan, Virginia.

Scope and Content
This collection contains letters to and from Union Soldier John H. Snouffer of the 133rd Ohio Infantry. The letter was from a member of the same company in the same camp, Captain Ellis H. Heagler. The letters are written in pencil.
