Content Description
Two original pen and ink cartoons drawn by W&L University alumnus Gary Apgar. The cartoons pertain to the mystery of the 1967 disappearance of the W&L mace - a ceremonial staff carried in academic processions. One of the cartoons was published in the April 18, 1967 edition of the student newspaper, Ring Tum Phi with Biology professor Dr. James Holt Starling, University Marshall, depicted as well. The mace was soon recovered.
