Scope and Contents
This collection contains four letters by Julia Miller Junkin Fishburn while she lived at her father, George Junkin's house, while he was the President of Washington and Lee University. She writes to her friend Lizzie Webster in Maryland about her sister Margaret Junkin Preston, her brother-in-law General Stonewall Jackson, her upcoming marriage to Junius M. Fishburn, who was a Latin professor at Washington College, later about his death and her mother's death. A fifth letter dated approximately 30 years later gives advice to her friend on publishing a book of poetry.
