Administrative History:

Charles Francis Adams,Jr. was a member of the prominent Adams family, and son of Charles Francis Adams Sr. He served as a colonel in the Union Army during the American Civil War. After the war, he was a railroad regulator and executive, an author of historical works, and a member of the Massachusetts Park Commission.  2016 Wikipedia.

Scope and Contents

Typed carbon copy of letter to Judge H. G. Connor of Wilson, North Carolina about Connor's "George Davis" address on the aftermath of the Civil War.  Washington, D.C. March 30, 1912.  Davis cites examples of how the Confederate states were unfairly treated after the war.
