Abstract
Items commemorating the service of West Virginia National Guard units in Desert Storm and Desert Shield, including a coin,
a key chain, and a card. The coin is bronze in color. It shows the image of a shield on one face with writing around the edge
that reads "I am the guard; I helped liberate Kuwait". The other face shows the image of soldiers, a tank, and a helicopter
with writing around the edge that reads "Citizen soldier in peace and war; West Virginia Army National Guard"; this face also
lists the guard units that served. The key chain is a silver colored coin with an attached split ring; one face bears the
image of an eagle and the other the outline of the state of West Virginia. The card is printed with a "Welcome Home" message
from West Virginia Governor Gaston Caperton.
