Scope and Contents
Selected Civil War maps reproduced from originals by the U.S. Coast Survey, 1861-1865. These were published by the U.S. Coast and Geodetic Survey in the period ca. 1955-1965, during the tenure of Rear Admiral H. Arnold Karo, Director.
There are a total of 20 maps. They include:
Plan of Fort Jackson, Mississippi, Showing Effect of Bombardment, 1862
Reconnaisance of the Mississippi River, 1862
Richmond, Virginia, 1864
Military Map of South-eastern Virginia, 1864
Map of Portions of Sea Coast, South Carolina and Georgia, 1861
Other maps include Vicksburg and Charleston Harbor.
