Scope and Content
The Historic Radford College Publications Collection contains recruitment flyers, college bulletins, pamphlets, pictorial display booklets, programs, and other materials published between 1914-71. Records show that many of the materials were collected by M'Ledge Moffett, who served as the school's Dean of Women from 1920-62. Box 1 holds publications from 1914 - 1926 such as State Normal School Bulletins from Feb-Oct 1924, The State Teacher's College Motto Christmas Card from 1924 and a State Teachers College Interesting and Attractive Features pamphlet for the 1929-1930 session.
Box 2 holds publications from 1927 - 1934 such as State Teacher's College Bulletins from 1927-1932, flyers with program information regarding the 1932 Commencement ceremonies, and a schedule of debates for1932. Box 3 covers the years 1935 - 1971 and includes, but is not limited to, presentation of a portrait of President David Peters in 1949, a program for the Convocation of the 53rd Annual Session of Radford College in 1965 and a Radford College Office of Admissions Recruitment Booklet from October of 1971.
Box 4 contains undated material such as miscellaneous clippings and pictures from recruitment bulletins, a program for The Great European Passion play and a bumper sticker with the slogan "Yes I am Radford College ". Box 5 holds duplicate material of the other four boxes in the collection.
Arrangement
Box 5 holds dated folders with any duplicate copies of the publications located in the first four boxes of the collection.
