The Carme Pinos collection was added to the IAWA Small Collections Ms2009-054 in September 2009.
Biographical Information
Carme Pinos was born in Barcelona in 1954, and graduated from the Barcelona School of Architecture in 1979. Some of Pinos' projects include the Llauna Factory-School, the Igualada Cemetery, the Hostalets de Balanya Civic Center, and the Olympic Archery Range-all completed with partner Enric Miralles. In 1994 Pinos was awarded the Plym Distinguished Professor in Architecture by the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, and taught at the University from 1994-1995.
Scope and Content
The Carme Pinos Architectural papers consist of a booklet, published in 1995 to showcase Pinos' work when she was awarded the Plym Distinguished Professorship in Architecture at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign in 1994. The booklet contains pictures of Pinos' work and comments from students and colleagues.
